Guided Journal
The printed guided journal provides a tangible, off-screen tool that prompts deep reflection and goal-setting. The journal starts with a pre-season planning section that sets an athlete up for success before starting their journey. The end has a postseason reflection where they can look back on their season and the impact that the journal had on their mental wellbeing. It also contains mindfulness and breathing exercises throughout that help athletes clear their mind and reduce anxiety before high pressure events.
The companion app, designed using Figma, is a user-friendly prototype that combines a range of mindfulness tools, mood trackers, and reflection prompts. I transferred the key elements and branding from the journal into the app, adding even more features, such as daily planning, mindfulness resources, and mood tracking. This digital alternative offers the flexibility of being used anywhere, making it a convenient and accessible resource for student-athletes on the go.
Publication
My final investigation was translating all of my research and investigations into a cohesive 44 page publication that follows my entire process. The contents are as follows: Abstract, Introduction, Background, Research Methods, Investigations, Findings, and Bibliography.
