Beyond the Game: Senior Thesis

Beyond the Game is a dynamic brand that includes a printed guided journal and a companion app, created as part of my semester-long thesis project titled "Prioritizing Well-Being Over Performance: Enhancing Mental Health through Mindfulness Resources for Student-Athletes. "Drawing on extensive research, case studies, and a deep exploration of mental health challenges faced by student-athletes, this initiative aims to foster a supportive and open environment. It encourages honest conversations, promotes mental well-being, and empowers student-athletes to cultivate balance and happiness in their lives beyond the demands of their sport.

Guided Journal
The journal starts with a pre-season planning that sets an athlete up for success before starting their journey. The end has a post-season reflection where they can reflect on their season and the impact that the the journal had on their mental wellbeing. It also contains mindfulness and breathing exercises throughout that help athletes clear their mind and reduce anxiety before high pressure events.
Using Figma, I transferred the information and branding into an app that contains everything the journal has and more, such as daily planning, mindfulness resources, and mood tracking. This alternative can be used anywhere and is more accessible for a student-athlete who is on the go.
Publication
My final investigation was translating all of my research and investigations into a cohesive 44 page publication that follows my entire process. The contents are as follows: Abstract, Introduction, Background, Research Methods, Investigations, Findings, and Bibliography.
